Arms Cyber and Veeam Integrate for Advanced Ransomware Backup Protection

Arms Cyber Partners with Veeam for Improved Ransomware Protection

In an exciting development, Arms Cyber, known for its stealth-based ransomware protection, has partnered with data management leader Veeam Software. This collaboration focuses on a new technical integration that automates the detection and isolation of backup restore points compromised by ransomware. The goal is to make recovery faster and reduce the risk of reinfection.

Ransomware is getting smarter, often targeting backups or hiding until it’s ready to attack. This means that when IT teams restore from recent backups, they might unknowingly reintroduce malware, creating a problematic “reinfection loop.” The solution from Arms Cyber and the Veeam Data Platform uses Veeam’s Incident API to keep an eye on backup environments. If ransomware is detected, the system flags compromised restore points, alerting IT teams to prevent restoring infected data.

Enhancing Cyber Resilience

Bob Kruse, CEO of Arms Cyber, points out the flaw in traditional models where detection and recovery are handled separately. “Our integration with Veeam is about more than just warning users of threats; it’s about ensuring infected data stays out of the recovery process.” This partnership represents a significant leap in cyber resilience.

The integration works with Veeam Data Platform version 12 or later and requires an active Arms Cyber subscription. For more details, visit their Partner Program.

About Arms Cyber: Known for their innovative triadic strategy—Conceal, Deceive, and Restore—Arms Cyber remains at the forefront of cybersecurity, helping protect sensitive data and ensure rapid recovery, effectively avoiding ransom payments.
