Spain’s First Post-Quantum Semiconductor Center Launches
SEALSQ Corp and Quantix Edge Security’s Pioneering Partnership
SEALSQ Corp has teamed up with Quantix Edge Security to create Spain’s first post-quantum semiconductor center, announced on September 26, 2025. Nestled in the Region of Murcia, this venture represents a significant leap forward in the semiconductor industry with an expected revenue of $25 million over three years, thanks to various project milestones.
The initiative is all set to kick off in early 2026, progressing steadily under SEALSQ’s guidance. This venture aligns perfectly with Spain’s national strategy, prioritizing sovereignty in essential sectors like semiconductors and cybersecurity. The government recently invested EUR 19.6 million in Quantix, anticipating an economic boost of EUR 793 million in the Murcia region over the following five years.
Advancements in Post-Quantum Technology
This new center cements Spain’s position as a key player in the field of semiconductor innovation, concentrating on post-quantum and cybersecurity applications. SEALSQ is on a fast track to push its post-quantum semiconductor tech to market through Quantix Edge Security by 2026, even before the Murcia facility is ready. This proactive strategy aids the early adoption of quantum-resistant solutions, contributing to their $170 million revenue pipeline linked to SEALSQ’s Quantum Roadmap.
Looking ahead, SEALSQ is set to unveil its QS7001 Quantum Shield by mid-November 2025. This chip promises robust security for critical applications like cryptocurrency, defense, healthcare, and IoT by integrating NIST-approved quantum-resistant algorithms, ML-KEM (CRYSTALS-Kyber) and ML-DSA (CRYSTALS-Dilithium), within its hardware. This advancement paves the way for a seamless transition to quantum cryptography through hybrid migration methodologies from traditional protocols. Expect to see the QVault TPM, a new Trusted Platform Module, debut in 2026.
