The Rise of Project Eleven

The 2026 Digital Asset Outlook Report from The Block has just been released, shedding light on significant industry strides. Among the impressive news is Project Eleven, a groundbreaking startup enhancing blockchain security against quantum computing threats. Recently, it wrapped up a Series A funding round worth $20 million, boosting its valuation to $120 million. Noteworthy backers include Castle Island Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, and more.

According to CEO Alex Pruden, Project Eleven employed a simple agreement for future equity (SAFE) model, coupled with a token warrant. This follows their initial seed round where they raised $6 million. The quantum technology-focused Quantonation stands as their unique investor in crypto. Nic Carter of Castle Island Ventures joins their board, spotlighting the rising threat quantum advancements pose to cryptography. Public blockchains, including Bitcoin, could be vulnerable, as current methods might not hold up against future quantum capabilities.

Preparing for a Quantum Future

Project Eleven’s name signifies the urgency it places on addressing imminent quantum threats. Alex Pruden notes Google’s recent achievements in quantum research, suggesting blockchain defenses might be challenged by 2030. He warns that digital assets, estimated at $3 trillion, could be at stake.

The company aims to make blockchain networks ready for quantum advancements with innovations like ‘Yellowpages,’ which allows Bitcoin users to create post-quantum keys. They’re also collaborating with Solana Foundation to prepare for post-quantum compatibility. Project Eleven is generating revenue through protocol grants and is poised to play a pivotal role in transitioning digital assets to post-quantum security, much like Palantir’s impact on data analysis.

Their team, based mainly in the U.S. and U.K., is expanding, especially in engineering and research. Keep up with these developments in crypto funding by subscribing to The Funding newsletter.
