Dr. Joseph Kearney Joins QRL as Technical Advisor

The Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) is excited to welcome Dr. Joseph Kearney as a new Technical Advisor. Known for his expertise in post-quantum cryptography, Dr. Kearney will be instrumental in the upcoming QRL 2.0 upgrade, which promises Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility.

This appointment is timely given a recent Federal Reserve alert. They emphasized a pressing threat: “harvest now, decrypt later” strategies that could jeopardize blockchain integrity. As it stands, there’s no way to retroactively protect data against quantum attacks, turning a theoretical issue into an urgent concern.

Dr. Kearney’s Extensive Experience in Blockchain Security

With nearly a decade of experience, Dr. Kearney is a vital asset to QRL. His work spans blockchain technology, cryptography, and quantum computing, marking him as a leader in addressing risks of cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs). He has published key papers such as “Downtime Required for Bitcoin Quantum-Safety.”

At QRL, Dr. Kearney will oversee the migration to QRL 2.0 while maintaining the highest technical standards. His role is pivotal in ensuring QRL’s continued leadership in blockchain security.

A Vision for the Future

Dr. Kearney shared his enthusiasm: “QRL’s mission is crucial with quantum computing’s rise. I’m thrilled to support their pioneering work, especially with innovations like EVM compatibility.”

Quantum Resistant Ledger remains committed to secure blockchain solutions, leveraging NIST-standardized algorithms, and preparing for a quantum-ready future with their QRL 2.0 upgrade.
