Bryan Texas Utilities Suspend Credit Card Payments After Ransomware Attack
Ransomware Halts Credit Card Payments for BTU Customers
Right now, Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) customers face a hiccup in processing credit card payments. What’s the culprit? A ransomware attack on BridgePay, the third-party vendor handling these transactions.
BTU has acknowledged the disruption comes from BridgePay’s system issues. They’re actively working with partners like InvoiceCloud to get things back on track, but there’s no clear timeline for this fix just yet.
Alternative Ways to Pay
While waiting for the digital solution, BTU offers several alternative payment methods:
- Cash or Check: You can pay directly at specific BTU payment locations.
- Mail: Send a check with your bill stub to PO Box 8000, Bryan, TX 77805.
- Kiosks: Visit BTU kiosks at both H-E-B locations in Bryan, the City of Bryan Development Center drive-thru at 200 E. 29th St., or the BTU drive-thru at 2611 N. Earl Rudder Freeway.
To ease the impact, BTU won’t charge late fees or disconnect services during this period. They’re keen on protecting customer information and maintaining service.
