Collins Aerospace Suffers Major Data Breach by Everest Ransomware
Collins Aerospace Data Breach: What Happened?
On November 13, 2025, news broke that Collins Aerospace had fallen victim to a cyberattack by the Everest ransomware group. This came after previous disruptions in September that affected the company’s automated check-in and boarding systems, causing chaos across European airports. The Everest group reportedly leaked a staggering 23 GB of data from Collins Aerospace’s systems. The leaked information includes sensitive data like binaries and internal logs and alarmingly, personal records of about 1.5 million people, including traveler names and flight details.
Interestingly, the information Everest released might be just a snippet of the total data they seized, according to Cybernews researchers. As of now, Collins Aerospace has yet to release a public statement about this breach. Complicating matters, this data leak coincides with Everest removing a previously posted link to stolen data from Dublin Airport.
Protecting Against Ransomware Is Crucial
This incident underscores the critical importance of protecting organizations against ransomware attacks. Fortunately, a wealth of resources is available to help bolster defenses with effective strategies and insights into combating such threats.
In related cybersecurity developments, Europol has successfully dismantled over 1,000 malicious servers during a global crackdown on ransomware operations, highlighting the ongoing international efforts to tackle cybercrime. Other breaches, like the Qilin ransomware attack on Synnovis in the UK, and the RansomHouse group’s activities in Italy targeting Fulgar S.p.A., show the relentless spread of cyber threats.
