Omantel and Kingsoft: A Local Innovation for Oman

On October 22, 2025, Omantel together with Kingsoft unveiled an exciting new venture: Oman’s first homegrown productivity software tailored specifically for the nation’s growing digital needs. This isn’t just any software; it’s designed to operate entirely within Oman’s national cloud, keeping your data in-country and under the strictest data sovereignty laws. This move represents a giant leap for Oman’s digital journey, offering local businesses and government entities a secure, reliable alternative to global solutions.

The software doesn’t just keep data safe; it also promises financial advantages. Forget about unpredictable currency conversions or international data transfer fees. By focusing on Omani Riyals and offering local tech support, businesses can experience faster access times and lower latency. It effortlessly integrates with existing systems, protecting past tech investments and complements Oman’s strategic digital objectives.

Strategic Digital Evolution in Oman

More than just a tech upgrade, this collaboration underscores a national vision: equipping Oman’s sectors with tools that meet both local and global standards. Omantel, driving this initiative, becomes a crucial player in Oman’s digital sovereignty pursuits. Aladdin Baitfadhil, Omantel’s Chief Commercial Officer, noted the venture with Kingsoft as a major milestone in Oman’s digital narrative. Together, they’re crafting a nationally governed software solution hosted on Oman’s National Cloud, aimed squarely at fostering innovation and aligning with Oman’s tech aspirations.

With this partnership, Oman sets its sights on becoming a regional powerhouse for innovation and cloud services, leveraging Omantel’s national expertise and Kingsoft’s international insights. As the nation’s digital infrastructure advances, the collaboration stands as a testament to Oman’s commitment to being at the forefront of technological innovation.
